Against the general trend of global low-carbon transformation and intelligent logistics upgrading, the combination of automation technology and electric forklift equipment has gradually become the core direction of the material handling industry in recent years. Different from the early electric forklifts that only replaced the fuel power system to achieve zero local emission, the infiltration of automation logic has brought all-round adjustments to the entire product R&D, manufacturing and application system of electric forklift equipment.
First, automation has reshaped the core performance design logic of electric forklift equipment. In the traditional R&D framework, the performance parameters of electric forklifts are mainly set around manual operation habits, including maximum load, driving speed and basic battery life. After the introduction of automation modules such as environment perception, autonomous path planning and adaptive power adjustment, the R&D side will optimize the energy consumption distribution strategy of the power system according to the actual operation scene, which can effectively extend the continuous working time of the equipment under the same battery capacity. Meanwhile, the automatic safety sensing function can identify obstacles, passing personnel and abnormal shelf status in the operation area in real time, and make corresponding adjustment actions in advance, which further reduces the operation safety risk of equipment in closed working sites.
Second, automation has effectively expanded the applicable boundary of electric forklift equipment. In the past, electric forklifts were mostly used in conventional ordinary storage and distribution scenarios, and it is difficult to be widely used in special scenarios such as narrow channel high-level storage, low-temperature cold chain warehouse and hazardous materials storage sites due to the restriction of manual operation intensity and working environment risks. With the support of mature automation technology, electric forklift equipment can complete preset handling actions without on-site manual operation, which can adapt to more special working conditions and meet the differentiated material handling needs of different industries.
Third, automation also promotes the overall iterative upgrading of the electric forklift industry chain. The compatibility requirements of automation functions for power management systems, motion control systems and communication modules of electric forklifts have promoted the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain to carry out targeted technology optimization, and also promoted the continuous improvement of the unified industry standard system for electric forklift products. At present, the deep integration of automation and electric forklift is still in the stage of steady and progressive development, which will further empower the efficient operation of the whole intelligent logistics system in the future.
