With the wide application of intelligent lithium-powered forklifts in modern logistics scenarios, regular iteration of on-board software and firmware has become a core link to maintain stable equipment operation and expand functional adaptability. The update mechanism designed for BYD intelligent lithium-powered forklift units follows the core design concept of safety first and full traceability, to support users to complete system iteration in a standardized and controllable way.
The core principle of the update mechanism focuses on full-link risk control. All official released software and firmware packages have passed multi-round functional verification, compatibility test covering different working conditions, and operational stability assessment before being released to users. No untested version will be pushed to end devices, to avoid abnormal operation risks caused by mismatched program versions.
There are two accessible update channels for users to choose according to actual operation conditions. The first one is local update mode, which requires authorized operation and maintenance personnel with corresponding qualification to connect dedicated maintenance tool to the on-board central control interface of the forklift, and complete identity verification before initiating the upgrade process. The system is embedded with power-off protection and breakpoint resume function, which can automatically restore the previous stable available version even if unexpected power interruption occurs during the update process, and will not cause device unavailability. The second channel is remote OTA update, which can be launched on the dedicated industrial IoT management platform when the forklift connects to the authorized secure network. The update data is transmitted in full encryption, and each data fragment carries independent verification code, to prevent malicious tampering of data packets in the transmission process.
After the update process is completed, the on-board system will automatically start the full-item self-inspection process, which will check the operation status of the lithium battery management module, power output control module, steering adjustment module and intelligent scheduling docking module one by one. The system will generate a complete update report and synchronize it to the background management platform, if any operation abnormality is detected during self-inspection, it will automatically roll back to the last confirmed stable version, and push alarm notification to the corresponding maintenance personnel in time.
For daily operation, it is recommended that the equipment management side arrange the update process during non-peak operation period to avoid affecting normal logistics turnover, and do not install unofficially released software packages without authorization. The standardized update mechanism can continuously optimize the energy consumption performance of lithium-powered forklifts in the full life cycle, and bring more stable use experience for logistics operation.
