Daily pre-shift inspection of electric forklifts is a mandatory routine step for all logistics operation teams to eliminate hidden risks before formal operation, and all inspection items targeting safety functions can be divided into several clear modules for efficient execution.
The first module covers visual inspection of outer structure and surrounding safety conditions before starting the equipment. Operators need to walk around the whole vehicle first to check for obvious body damage, tire wear and inflation condition, no loose parts or leaked liquid residues around the chassis, and confirm there is no sundries blocked around the wheel and operation travel path. This step also requires operators to check the load backrest, overhead guard and other outer protection structures, to make sure no obvious deformation, crack or loose fixing components that may reduce protection performance.
Next part focuses on electric power and safety protection of the electrical system. Operators need to check the battery appearance first, confirm no bulge, leakage or corroded electrode, then check the cable connection status to ensure no exposed broken wires or loose plugs. After turning on the main power, operators need to observe the instrument panel to confirm all fault indicator lights are off, the remaining power display works normally, and the emergency power cut-off switch can respond quickly when pressed.
The core inspection part targets operation and braking safety functions. Operators need to test the forward and reverse travel response, steering flexibility, and confirm the direction wheels do not have abnormal stuck or unsmooth rotation during full left and full right steering. Then test the service braking and parking braking function respectively, to ensure the vehicle can stop stably at preset position under no-load and slight load condition, and the parking brake can prevent the vehicle from sliding automatically when parked on a slight slope.
The final module covers working attachment and auxiliary safety function checks. Operators need to test the lifting and tilting function of the fork carriage, confirm there is no obvious jitter or unresponsiveness during the whole lifting and falling stroke, check the limit switch of the mast can trigger normally when reaching the highest preset position. Operators also need to confirm the horn, warning light, rearview mirror and other auxiliary safety components are in normal working condition, then complete a 3 to 5 minutes no-load trial run in a designated safe area to verify all safety functions perform stably, before the formal operation of the shift.
