Cold-storage facilities operate in long-term low-temperature, high-humidity and high-frost working environments, which puts forward higher targeted requirements for electric material handling gear than conventional normal-temperature warehouses. Unstandardized procurement selection may lead to frequent equipment failure, shortened service life, and hidden safety risks in daily operations, so relevant facility managers need to pay attention to multiple core points during the whole sourcing process.
Prioritize low-temperature adaptability verification as the primary check standard. For the core components including drive motor, battery pack, control circuit and hydraulic system of the electric material handling gear, purchasers should confirm that all parts have passed strict low-temperature operation tests that match the lowest working temperature of their cold storage zones. It is suggested to check the operation stability of the equipment under continuous operation for more than 8 hours in the set low temperature range, to avoid situations such as obvious battery capacity attenuation, circuit response delay, and hydraulic oil viscosity increase that affect normal operation efficiency.
Do not ignore the anti-slip and anti-condensation safety configuration check. The working ground inside cold storage is easy to form thin ice layers or water condensate for a long time, so the material handling gear needs to be equipped with dedicated non-slip solid tires, waterproof and anti-condensation protection for all operation panels and wiring interfaces, and relevant alarm devices for overload and low temperature abnormal operation. Such configurations can effectively reduce the slipping risk of the equipment during high-frequency handling of goods in and out of the warehouse, and avoid misoperation caused by condensed water on the operation handle.
Pay attention to the match between the equipment operation parameters and the actual scene demand. Before selecting the model, purchasers need to sort out the maximum lifting height, average single carrying weight, daily operation time per device, and the width of the operation channel in the cold storage, to avoid selecting equipment with excessive parameters that cause unnecessary cost waste, or selecting equipment with insufficient parameters that cannot meet the daily operation efficiency demand.
Last but not least, confirm the targeted post-sales support system. Different from the maintenance demand of conventional normal temperature electric handling equipment, cold storage special gear needs regular anti-frost inspection, low-temperature component performance detection and other professional maintenance services. Purchasers should confirm that the supplier can provide corresponding on-site maintenance response within the agreed time frame, and supply enough spare parts that adapt to low temperature scenarios, to reduce the idle time of equipment after failure, and guarantee the normal operation rhythm of the whole cold storage facility.
