As the logistics and warehousing industry continues to pursue low-carbon operations, electric forklifts have become one of the most widely adopted material handling equipment in indoor working scenarios, due to their low noise, zero local emissions and relatively easy operation features. Mastering correct usage and maintenance rules can help operators give full play to the equipment’s performance while reducing unnecessary loss.
Core Pre-operation Inspection Protocols
Before starting each shift, operators need to complete a series of routine checks that do not require professional disassembly. The checking scope covers the power system remaining capacity, brake response sensitivity, tire surface wear status, lifting hydraulic component sealing condition, as well as the normal operation of all light and warning signal devices. If any abnormal sign is found during the check, operators should report to the management team in time instead of forcing the equipment into operation, which can avoid potential safety risks and secondary damage to the parts.
Daily Usage Optimization for Longer Service Cycle
In daily operation, operators should avoid frequent full load sudden start or sudden stop actions as much as possible, which will cause extra loss to the power driving module and the motor. When the equipment is not in use for a long time, it is recommended to park the forklift in a dry, ventilated and shaded designated area, lower the lifting fork to contact the ground, and cut off the main power supply properly. Regularly clean the dust and accumulated sundries on the surface of the equipment, especially the heat dissipation gaps of the power components, to ensure the heat dissipation efficiency during long-time continuous operation.
Scenario-adaptive Safe Operation Rules
When working in narrow aisle scenarios, operators should control the driving speed at a low level, and keep a safe distance with surrounding shelves, personnel and other handling equipment. For operations that need to lift goods to a high position, operators should adjust the driving gravity center to a stable state in advance, and avoid sharp turns during the lifting process. After completing high-intensity continuous operation tasks, it is suggested to leave proper idle time for the equipment to rest, instead of running it beyond the rated working load for a long period. Following these practical rules can help enterprises give full play to the advantages of electric forklift equipment, create a safer working environment for frontline operators.
