In recent years, the global shift toward low-carbon logistics and intelligent material handling has driven rapid popularization of lithium-powered forklifts across manufacturing, warehousing, port and retail distribution scenarios. As the core component that determines the operational safety, service life and overall performance of electric forklifts, lithium forklift battery has gradually become the core focus of industry regulation construction, and cross-stakeholder collaboration in standard formulation has become a prominent development trend in the sector.
First, the cross-domain alliance between upstream and downstream industry players has become the basic support for standard unification. Previously, related rules for lithium forklift batteries were often formulated separately by battery manufacturers, forklift producers and logistics operation entities, leading to mismatched parameters in scenarios like battery interchange, charging interface adaptation and operation monitoring. In recent years, industrial associations, testing institutions, core equipment suppliers and end-user representatives have built regular collaborative communication mechanisms, to jointly verify technical indicators through large-scale field operation data, and form consensus on basic requirements for battery energy density, cycle life, high and low temperature resistance, and overcharge protection performance. This collaborative model effectively avoids the deviation between single-party formulated standards and actual operation demands, and makes the promoted norms more operable for all participants in the industrial chain.
Second, cross-regional mutual recognition of standard systems is accelerating under joint promotion of all related parties. Different regions previously had differentiated access rules for lithium forklift batteries based on their own industrial foundation and safety management requirements, which raised extra compliance cost for cross-regional circulation of forklift equipment and battery products. Through joint research, mutual visit and shared testing data between standardization organizations in different regions, more and more universal core indicators are being confirmed, and the mutual recognition of qualified test reports is being gradually realized. This trend effectively reduces redundant repeated testing procedures, and facilitates the efficient flow of compliant lithium forklift battery products in a wider market scope.
Third, the collaborative iteration of standards targeting new emerging application scenarios is becoming more frequent. With the continuous expansion of lithium forklift application in special scenarios like cold storage, high-altitude areas and flammable material processing workshops, new demands for customized performance of lithium batteries are constantly put forward. The traditional standard updating process that takes several years to complete cannot match the fast iteration speed of application demands. The new collaboration mechanism that gathers representatives from scenario end users, technical R&D teams and safety assessment institutions can complete the formulation of supplementary standard clauses within a relatively short period, to fill the regulatory gap in emerging scenarios in time, and guarantee the safe and stable operation of new-type equipment in special working conditions.
Looking ahead, the continuous deepening of industry collaboration in lithium forklift battery standard construction will further promote the healthy and orderly development of the whole electric material handling sector, bring tangible benefits of higher operation safety and lower comprehensive use cost for end users, and support the low-carbon transformation of logistics and manufacturing industries.
