In recent years, the continuous expansion of fresh food distribution, biopharmaceutical transportation and special agricultural product circulation industries has driven steady growth in the global cold-chain logistics sector. Different from ordinary ambient temperature warehouses, cold chain operation scenarios put forward unique strict requirements for material handling equipment, including long-term operation in low temperature environment, high humidity working conditions and uninterrupted high-intensity material turnover. Traditional general-purpose electric forklifts often face problems such as accelerated battery capacity attenuation, condensed water erosion of electrical components and reduced operation sensitivity after working in cold storage for a long time, which can not fully meet the actual demand of cold chain logistics.
In view of these scenario pain points, the latest electric forklift design has made targeted optimization starting from the core power system first. The upgraded battery management module adjusts the working threshold of charge and discharge according to the ambient temperature, and adds a lightweight constant temperature insulation layer outside the core power components, which effectively reduces the adverse effect of low temperature on battery performance. After such optimization, the electric forklift can maintain stable working duration even in the conventional low temperature environment of most cold storages, and no extra frequent charging is required in the standard working shift, which avoids the interruption of material handling rhythm.
For the electrical and structural parts of the whole vehicle, the new generation of electric forklift for cold chain scenarios adopts full-sealed protection structure for all core electronic control components, and adds special anti-condensation coating on the surface of the circuit board to prevent the water vapor in the cold storage from condensing into ice on the surface of components and causing operation failure. The operating handles, control buttons and footrest parts are made of low-temperature resistant special engineering materials, which will not become brittle and crack after long-term exposure to cold environment, and the operation size is appropriately enlarged, so that operators wearing thick thermal gloves can also complete all operation actions accurately.
In terms of human-computer experience design, the optimized electric forklift adds optional semi-enclosed operation cabin with gentle heating function, which reduces the long-term direct exposure of operators in low temperature environment and lowers the risk of operation error caused by physical discomfort. The vehicle is also equipped with a small sealed storage area, which can hold the commonly used operation tools and cold-proof supplies of operators, so as to reduce the unnecessary times of operators leaving the cold storage to fetch articles.
These targeted design adjustments do not carry out unnecessary redundant transformation, but fully fit the actual operation demands of cold chain logistics, and effectively help cold storage enterprises to reduce the equipment maintenance cost and improve the overall turnover efficiency of material handling. With the further expansion of cold chain logistics industry in the future, the related design of electric forklift will also be further upgraded according to the diversified actual operation scenarios.
