BYD forklift logistics industry warehousing and handling solutions: adapt to efficient circulation needs and create a green and low-cost logistics system

2026-08-24

The modern logistics industry is the core link that supports the operation of trade circulation and supply chain. From express loading, unloading and transshipment, goods warehousing and stacking to outbound distribution, the efficiency and cost of warehousing and handling directly affect the service timeliness and operating efficiency of enterprises. With the continuous improvement of the industry's operation intensity and the deepening of the concept of green development, the shortcomings of traditional lead-acid battery handling equipment in maintenance costs, energy efficiency and environmental protection attributes have gradually become apparent. In response to the operation characteristics and upgrade needs of the logistics industry, BYD forklift relies on the accumulation of lithium iron phosphate electric technology to launch a multi-scenario storage and handling solution to help logistics enterprises improve the efficiency of on-site circulation and control long-term operating costs.

First, the core characteristics of the logistics industry's handling conditions

The warehousing and handling scene in the logistics industry has distinct circulation attributes, which puts forward multi-dimensional requirements for equipment adaptability.

First, the load span is large and the mainstream range is concentrated. There are various types of logistics goods, and the handling load covers the range of 1 ton to 10 tons. The daily operation is mainly 2.5T-3.5T, and there are multiple requirements for the load adaptation of equipment.

Second, the operation time is long and the operation intensity is high. The industry generally adopts the three-shift operation mode, and some hub sites achieve 24-hour continuous operation, which requires high equipment endurance and continuous operation reliability.

The third is high operating efficiency requirements. Logistics operations are centralized, and loading, unloading and transshipment links need to match the rhythm of cargo circulation, which has clear requirements for the response speed and handling efficiency of equipment.

Fourth, the operation scene covers indoor and outdoor. The loading and unloading platform is mostly a semi-outdoor environment, and the warehousing operation is mainly indoor, and the equipment needs to be adapted to the operating conditions of different venues.

Fifth, the handling distance is relatively short. The turnover in the field is mostly within 100 meters, and the equipment needs to have good mobility and flexibility to adapt to high-frequency short-distance transshipment.

Second, the application limitations of traditional lead-acid battery forklifts

The current logistics industry has basically completed the electric transformation of handling equipment, but most enterprises still use lead-acid battery forklifts, which have many common limitations in the process of adapting to high-intensity operations.

At the daily maintenance level, lead-acid batteries need to be regularly added with distilled water and electrolyte, which makes the maintenance process cumbersome and the operation is not standardized, which will also shorten the battery life and increase the investment of enterprise manpower and time.

In terms of operating costs, lead-acid batteries have a long charging cycle. In order to ensure continuous operation of multiple shifts, enterprises need to equip spare batteries and replace them daily. In some scenarios, special power replacement equipment is also required, which increases equipment investment and operating costs.

In terms of safety and environmental protection, lead-acid batteries are prone to acid fog during operation, and hydrogen is released during charging, which not only poses certain safety hazards, but also may affect goods with high environmental requirements. At the same time, it is necessary to build a dedicated charging room and arrange special personnel management, which occupies storage space and increases infrastructure costs.

In addition, lead-acid batteries generally have problems such as short lifespan, memory effect, and low charging and discharging efficiency, making it difficult to fully match the high-intensity and high-efficiency operation requirements of the logistics industry.

III. BYD forklift logistics industry adaptation solutions

Combining the working conditions and existing pain points of the logistics industry, BYD forklift builds an adaptation plan from four dimensions: product matrix, core configuration, customized adaptation, and service guarantee.

In terms of product layout, a multi-scenario equipment matrix is formed. 2.0T-3.5T counterweight forklifts can be used for conventional handling of loading and unloading platforms and warehouses to meet mainstream load requirements; long-distance transshipment can be matched with 2.0T-5.0T electric tractors, high-level warehousing operations can be adapted to 1.6T forward moving trucks, and short-distance plane transshipment can be equipped with 2.0T pallet trucks to meet the equipment requirements of different operation links.

In terms of core performance, all models are equipped with large-capacity lithium iron phosphate batteries, which are maintenance-free and can be used at any time. There is no need to equip spare batteries or build a special charging room, which can save storage space and infrastructure investment. Calculated by working 20 hours a day for 2.5T models, the monthly energy consumption cost of BYD electric forklifts is lower than that of lead-acid battery forklifts of the same tonnage; a five-year cycle is used to comprehensively calculate energy consumption, maintenance, battery amortization and other costs, and a single device can effectively reduce comprehensive operating expenses. With a high-current charging solution, it can quickly replenish energy by using the operation gap to adapt to the battery life requirements of multi-shift continuous operations.

In terms of configuration and customization, the vehicle is equipped with mature mainstream controllers, hydraulic systems and other core components to ensure the reliability of long-term operation; it is equipped with multiple safety designs such as slope protection, overload protection, low cylinder buffering, and turning speed limit to improve operation safety. At the same time, it supports the customization of gantry height and fork specifications, and can be attached to professional attachments such as side shifters and distance adjustment forks; for indoor and outdoor operation scenarios, it can provide a number of customized configurations such as fully enclosed cab, warning lights, fans, etc., to adapt to the operation needs of different venues.

In terms of service guarantee, the battery provides a 5-year quality assurance cycle to reduce the maintenance concerns of enterprises for long-term use of vehicles; establishes a full-link service system covering pre-sale, in-sale and after-sale, supporting a hierarchical response mechanism and stepped professional training, and supports sales, financial leasing, operating leasing and other cooperation models, adapting to the procurement planning of different enterprises.

IV. Industry landing practice

At present, BYD forklifts have been landed in many leading logistics enterprises such as SF Express, China Post, Sinotrans, COSCO Logistics, JD.com Logistics, Yunda Express, etc. The application models cover multi-tonnage counterweight forklifts, and the investment scale ranges from more than 100 to hundreds. The stable operation performance and efficient operation characteristics have been recognized by customers. In addition to the logistics industry, related products have also been applied in many industries such as food, manufacturing, building materials, etc., adapting to the handling needs of different fields.

As the logistics industry continues to develop in the direction of intelligence and greening, the electrification upgrade of on-site handling equipment has become an important breakthrough point for enterprises to reduce costs and increase efficiency and practice green operations. BYD forklifts rely on their own lithium battery technology advantages and industry scenarios to continuously polish the exclusive handling solutions of the logistics industry. While ensuring operational efficiency and operational reliability, they help enterprises control operating costs and improve environmental protection levels, providing reliable equipment support for equipment upgrades in the logistics industry.
