First, the side-extract battery structure completely optimizes the battery replacement operation flow of lithium-ion forklift equipment. Traditional top-out battery design requires operators to use special lifting tools to hoist the battery out from the top of the vehicle, which needs to reserve enough vertical operation space, and the whole process usually takes multiple people to cooperate. For the side-extract design, operators can open the special maintenance side door at the corresponding position of the vehicle body, pull the battery horizontally out along the built-in slide rail at a flat height, and complete the replacement of the fully charged battery within a few minutes. The whole operation does not need additional hoisting auxiliary equipment, no extra vertical space is required, which can be adapted to narrow working scenarios such as small warehouses, low-height cold chain storage, and compact production workshops.
Second, this special structure effectively improves the overall reliability of lithium-ion forklift equipment. Since there is no need to set up a large opening on the top of the forklift body for battery access, the overall sealing performance of the vehicle body can be better guaranteed, effectively reducing the risk of dust, rain or debris falling into the inner cabin during daily outdoor or open-site operations. The built-in slide rail also limits the displacement range of the battery during the frequent start, stop and steering process of the forklift, which can reduce the wear of the connecting line between the battery and the vehicle body, and extend the average no-fault operation time of the equipment.
Third, the side-extract battery structure significantly improves the operation safety of daily maintenance and emergency disposal. Operators do not need to climb to the top of the vehicle or lean over into the bottom of the equipment to touch the heavy battery, and can complete all operations in a natural standing posture on the side of the forklift, which avoids the risk of bumping, slipping or falling from height during operation. When abnormal conditions such as battery overheating occur, the staff can quickly pull the battery out of the vehicle body from the side without disassembling multiple external covering parts of the equipment, which greatly shortens the emergency disposal response time, and reduces the potential safety hazard in the operation process.
Fourth, this design helps to reduce the comprehensive use cost of lithium-ion forklift equipment in the whole life cycle. Users do not need to purchase and configure special battery lifting equipment separately in the supporting site, which reduces the early site investment. In the daily regular maintenance process, staff can easily take out the battery to clean the accumulated dust on the surface, check the state of the power interface and heat dissipation module, the whole maintenance process consumes less working hours, and reduces the labor cost of later equipment operation and maintenance. After years of market verification, the side-extract battery structure has been widely recognized by frontline material handling operators, and it can bring very practical use value for different industrial logistics scenarios.
