Against the backdrop of low-carbon logistics development, electric forklifts have gradually become the mainstream handling equipment in most indoor and semi-indoor industrial scenarios. Many frontline operators and warehouse managers still lack systematic cognition of its correct use and maintenance methods, which may lead to unnecessary operation risks and shortened equipment service cycle.
Core Performance Characteristics of Electric Forklifts
Different from traditional internal combustion handling equipment, electric forklifts rely on on-board power battery packs to provide driving and lifting power, which produce almost no exhaust emission during operation. The overall noise level during working is also significantly lower than that of fuel-powered counterparts, which can reduce long-term noise interference for on-site staff in closed warehouse spaces. Most models adopt integrated electric control systems, which have relatively fewer mechanical transmission components, and the operation sensitivity is friendly for operators with different operation experience levels.
Standard Daily Operation Guidelines
Before starting each shift of operation, operators need to check the remaining power level of the equipment, the flexibility of the lifting and tilting mechanism, the braking performance and the normal operation status of the lighting and warning components. During the operation process, it is not allowed to carry out over-load lifting operation beyond the rated load marked on the equipment nameplate, and the driving speed should be adjusted according to the on-site personnel density and road condition of the working area. When the equipment is not in use, the fork should be lowered to a position 10 to 15 cm above the ground, the power supply should be cut off, and the hand brake should be pulled to avoid unintended sliding.
Routine Maintenance and Daily Care Points
After the daily operation is completed, operators can wipe the dust and residual goods debris on the surface of the equipment, check whether the connection points of the power circuit have loose or abnormal heating phenomena. The power battery pack should be charged in the specified special charging area, and avoid over-discharging the battery to too low state for a long time, which will affect the overall cycle life of the battery. Regular professional inspection of the electric control system and transmission components can eliminate potential hidden troubles in the early stage, and reduce the unexpected downtime rate of the equipment in peak operation period. When matching electric forklift models for different scenarios, users can select corresponding parameters of load weight, maximum lifting height and aisle passing width according to their actual operation demands, so as to give full play to the use value of the equipment in daily material handling work.
