Lithium-ion powered forklifts have been widely adopted in various industrial material handling scenarios in recent years, ranging from indoor closed warehouses to open ports, cold chain storage yards and high-altitude logistics stations. The diverse and even harsh operating environments put forward strict requirements on the environmental adaptability of whole vehicles and core components, which makes environmental test a core mandatory link in the whole product certification system. All the referenced standard parameters are formulated in accordance with general industrial electric vehicle safety frameworks, without any exaggerated or unreasonable threshold settings.
The first category of core environmental test parameters focuses on temperature and humidity adaptability. The conventional working temperature test covers the range from -20℃ to 55℃, which matches the actual temperature fluctuation of most outdoor operation areas in different seasons. The non-working storage temperature test extends the range from -40℃ to 70℃, to simulate the extreme temperature condition during long-distance transportation or long-term idle placement. The constant humidity and heat test is set to last for 48 hours under 40℃ ambient temperature and 90% relative humidity. After the whole test process, the core components including battery management system, drive motor and hydraulic power unit should not present any functional failure, and the insulation resistance value should remain above the specified safety threshold.
The second category of standard parameters refers to ingress protection performance test. The dustproof test controls the sand dust concentration at 2kg per cubic meter, with continuous dust blowing for 8 hours to simulate the long-term operation in dusty mining or construction logistics sites. The waterproof test sets corresponding water spray pressure and immersion duration according to different application levels of products. After the test, there shall be no visible water entering the sealed electronic cabin, and all operation related functions can work normally.
The third category covers mechanical environmental test parameters. The vibration test sets the frequency range from 10Hz to 2000Hz, with acceleration amplitude controlled within 1g, and runs for 2 hours along three orthogonal axes respectively, to simulate the continuous bump force during daily operation and long-distance transportation of the equipment. The drop test for the on-board lithium battery pack is set to a 1-meter free fall to rigid cement ground, and no electrolyte leakage, external cracking or ignition risk is allowed after the test.
All these environmental test parameters are formulated to fully cover the full life cycle operation scenarios of lithium-ion forklifts. Manufacturing enterprises can carry out internal pre-test according to these parameters before submitting certification application, optimize product design details in advance, to improve compliance performance and guarantee stable operation for end users.
