Warehouse floor conditions vary greatly across different industrial storage scenarios, and the tire is the only component of a BYD lithium-ion counterbalance forklift that makes direct contact with the ground, whose configuration directly affects driving stability, operating comfort, energy consumption level and service life of related moving parts. Reasonable tire selection that matches the actual floor surface can effectively avoid abnormal wear of tires, reduce unnecessary maintenance frequency, and bring better operation experience for warehouse staff.
For high-standard warehouses with full smooth epoxy floors, such as electronics component storage and high-precision parts distribution centers, non-marking solid rubber tires are a suitable choice. This kind of tire has low rolling resistance, which can effectively cut down extra power consumption during frequent short-distance transfer, and will not leave obvious traces on the bright floor surface to keep the storage area clean. The relatively high contact surface flatness also helps improve the stability of stacking operation at high lifting height.
For general warehouses with worn cement floors, which usually have high daily throughput of fast-moving consumer goods or bulk packaged products, thickened wear-resistant polyurethane coated tires can adapt well to the working conditions. The specially optimized tread hardness can resist scratch from tiny hard particles scattered on the ground, reduce the probability of tread crack, and maintain sufficient grip even after long hours of continuous heavy load operation.
For cold chain warehouses and fresh food sorting centers where partial working areas may have residual water and form slippery surfaces, tires with wide and shallow patterned treads are highly recommended. The open pattern structure can quickly drain the accumulated water between the tire and the floor, effectively improve the adhesion force during braking, lower the skidding risk under low friction conditions, and ensure the safety of handling operations.
For the transition areas between indoor warehouse and outdoor loading zones with small bumps, shallow pits or expansion joints, industrial tires with good cushioning performance can filter most of the vibration from the uneven ground, avoid extra impact on the transported goods, and reduce the long-term vibration load acting on the forklift body frame.
When choosing tire configurations, warehouse managers can also combine their actual daily operation load level, average daily driving distance and maintenance budget to make comprehensive judgment, to give full play to the excellent performance of BYD lithium-ion counterbalance forklifts and reduce the overall operating cost in the whole lifecycle.
