Electric forklifts play a core role in modern warehouse and logistics material handling scenarios, and the comprehensive performance of operators is directly related to site operation safety, equipment service life and overall operation efficiency. Conducting regular, standardized performance reviews for electric forklift operators is a key measure for logistics management teams to optimize personnel management, eliminate hidden safety risks and stabilize operation quality. Unlike general post performance assessment, the review for forklift operators needs to be more targeted, focusing on practical operation scenarios rather than subjective impression judgment.
Before launching the formal performance review, the management team needs to complete sufficient preparation work in advance. First, collect objective operational data within the assessment cycle, including daily pre-shift vehicle inspection records, operation log files, site safety patrol feedback, and non-compliance operation warning records, so as to ensure all assessment bases are traceable. It is also necessary to notify relevant operators of the review arrangement 2 to 3 working days in advance, reserve time for them to sort out their self-evaluation content, and inform that the review is a two-way communication mechanism rather than a single accountability process, so as to ease the tension of participants and ensure the authenticity of communication.
The formal review process should set up multi-dimensional assessment indicators to avoid one-sided judgment. The first core dimension is safety compliance performance, which checks whether the operator strictly follows the operation specifications in daily work, including completing full pre-shift vehicle inspection as required, avoiding overloading, unauthorized carrying of personnel, sudden sharp turn or other high-risk operations, and finishing post-shift vehicle parking, power-off and charging work in accordance with regulations. The second dimension is operation efficiency performance, which counts the average cargo handling volume per unit time, the rationality of operation route planning, the actual power consumption level of the vehicle, and compares it with the average level of the team, while making reasonable concessions for operators assigned to special difficult operation scenarios. The third dimension is equipment maintenance cooperation performance, which investigates whether the operator actively reports abnormal vehicle conditions in time, cooperates with the equipment management team to complete regular maintenance, and avoids irregular operation behavior that causes unnecessary wear of parts. The fourth dimension is team collaboration performance, which evaluates the smoothness of the operator's connection with sorting, loading and unloading post personnel, and the frequency of operation errors that delay the work progress of upstream and downstream links.
After completing the indicator evaluation, the management team needs to give clear feedback to each operator face to face. In the communication process, it is necessary to fully listen to the practical difficulties encountered by the operator in daily work, including reasonable demands such as unreasonable site operation line setting and insufficient operation sight of specific areas. For the parts with excellent performance in the review, give clear recognition, and for the parts to be improved, formulate personalized targeted improvement plans, such as arranging corresponding skill refresh training, rather than simply imposing penalties. The review results can be linked with subsequent skill level promotion incentives to guide operators to actively optimize their operation habits. A fair and standardized performance review mechanism can effectively reduce the safety hidden dangers in electric forklift operation, improve the overall operation level of the operator team, and create a more stable and efficient working environment for the entire warehouse.
