Agricultural product storage and distribution sites cover diversified operation scenarios, from fresh fruit and vegetable cold storage, grain bulk transfer warehouse to pre-packaged farm product sorting area, which put forward unique requirements for material handling equipment on operation stability, low damage rate and site adaptability. Electric pallet trucks have become widely adopted handling tools in these scenarios with their flexible operation mode and low labor intensity.
For different storage scenarios, targeted operation adjustments can bring better usage effects. When operating in low-temperature cold storage for leafy vegetables or berries, operators can pre-start the battery warming function properly within the specified parameters of the equipment, and control the driving speed not exceeding 1.2m/s in the cold storage area, so as to avoid unstable shaking of stacked goods on the pallet that may cause collision damage to fragile fresh products. When working in grain transfer warehouses where there are often scattered rice husks, wheat grains and other sundries on the ground, operators should clean the driving path in advance before operation, and regularly check the gaps of walking wheels to remove embedded debris, which can effectively maintain the smooth driving of the equipment.
In narrow channel areas common in agricultural product storage sites, where most of the reserved passage width is between 1.8 meters and 2.2 meters, operators should reserve more than 30cm of safety space for the turning route of the electric pallet truck, to avoid scraping the stacked goods on both sides of the channel. When handling soft packaged farm products or fragile gift boxes of processed agricultural products, the forks should be inserted to more than two-thirds of the depth of the pallet, to prevent the goods from slipping off during the handling process.
For daily maintenance, as agricultural product storage sites usually have relatively high air humidity, and there may be residual fruit and vegetable juice or dust on the ground, operators can wipe the surface of the equipment after each shift, check whether the battery electrode part is kept dry, and place the idle equipment in a ventilated and dry area. It is recommended to carry out supplementary charging every two weeks when the equipment is not used for a long time, to maintain stable battery performance.
Standardized operation of electric pallet trucks can effectively reduce the damage rate of agricultural products in the handling link, optimize the turnover efficiency of storage and distribution, and create more stable operation benefits for site operators.
