Indoor warehouses that store extra-long cargo such as timber profiles, metal pipes and laminated building materials often face tight space constraints that regular counterbalance forklifts can hardly adapt to, and multi-directional electric forklifts are designed to address such targeted handling demands. Before putting the equipment into daily use, operators and warehouse managers need to master key parameter notes to avoid unnecessary operation risks and guarantee stable working performance.
First, refer to the rated load center parameter matching the actual cargo size. For extra-long cargo that usually extends beyond the front and back ends of the forklift body, operators should not judge the load capacity only by the nominal rated load value, instead, they need to check the extended load curve corresponding to different load centers in the official operation manual. Most indoor working scenes have clear limits on aisle width, so the minimum right-angle stacking aisle width parameter of the forklift should be confirmed to match the actual aisle reserved for extra-long cargo transfer, to prevent scratching the shelf surface or surrounding stored goods in the moving process.
Next, pay attention to the traveling and lifting performance parameters adapted to indoor working conditions. The maximum traveling speed under no-load and full-load status should be kept within the safe range suitable for indoor pedestrian flow, do not adjust the speed limit setting privately beyond the factory default range. The battery capacity and continuous working hour parameter should be evaluated according to the daily single-shift handling volume, to arrange reasonable charging and maintenance schedule in low peak working period, avoiding unexpected power outage in the middle of cargo transfer that may block the narrow indoor passage. The noise emission parameter of the equipment should also be checked to meet indoor workplace environmental requirements, so as not to cause disturbance to other working staff in the same operating area.
Last, confirm the relevant safety protection parameters for special multi-directional moving functions. The lateral traveling, omnidirectional steering and other special moving modes of the equipment have corresponding allowed maximum load values, operators should not carry extra-long cargo that exceeds the allowed load limit when using these special moving modes. The mast tilt angle parameter should also be adjusted to a reasonable range according to the height of the extra-long cargo, to prevent the cargo from slipping off the fork arms during the lateral moving process. All these parameter checks can effectively reduce equipment wear, extend the service life of the forklift, and bring stable and reliable handling experience for daily indoor extra-long cargo operation.
