
High-lift electric forklifts are widely used in modern large-scale warehouses, port cargo yards and manufacturing production lines for high-position cargo stacking and handling operations. The mast inter-lock system is one of the core safety components to prevent instability and accidental falling of goods during high-lift operations, and reasonable parameter setting directly determines the protective effect of the safety system.
The first core setting item is the height-linked walking speed limit parameter. According to the general operation specification, when the mast lifting height exceeds the preset value matching the equipment’s rated load, the inter-lock system will automatically lock the high-speed gear of the traveling mechanism, and only allow the equipment to run at a low speed not exceeding the safe value. Operators and safety managers should not arbitrarily increase the trigger height threshold of this inter-lock function for higher operation efficiency, otherwise the equipment will face higher risk of rollover when turning or passing uneven road sections under high-lift status.
The second core setting item is the load-related mast tilt angle limit parameter. When the mast lifting height exceeds the conventional safety threshold, the inter-lock system should limit the forward tilt angle of the mast within a small safe range, and the backward tilt angle should also be controlled within the corresponding threshold according to the actual load weight. This set of parameters needs to be calibrated every 3 months to avoid parameter deviation caused by long-term vibration of the equipment and sensor aging. The calibration process should be carried out under no-load and rated load conditions respectively to ensure the accuracy of the trigger logic.
The third core setting item is the abnormal condition response delay parameter. When the inter-lock system detects abnormal fluctuation of mast hydraulic pressure, unplanned displacement of mast position or other abnormal signals, it should trigger acousto-optic alarm within the specified time, and gradually lock the mast lifting and tilting action. The response delay parameter should not be set longer than 1 second, which may lead to untimely risk warning, and also should not be set less than 0.3 second, to avoid frequent false triggering caused by tiny vibration during normal operation.
All adjustment work of the above safety parameters must be completed by certified professional operation and maintenance personnel. After each parameter adjustment, no less than 3 rounds of repeated tests under different working conditions should be carried out to confirm that all inter-lock logics meet the safety requirements, and the equipment can be put into formal operation. Daily operation personnel are not allowed to modify these safety parameters without permission, and regular parameter recheck work can effectively reduce the hidden safety risks related to mast operation.
