Many electric pallet truck operators engaged in long-term warehouse material handling work easily suffer from unexplained soreness in wrists, shoulders, waist and legs after long shifts, most of which are caused by non-standard operation postures and lack of ergonomic adjustment awareness. Following scientific posture guidance to form good operation habits can effectively reduce physical strain and avoid unnecessary work-related discomfort without affecting normal work efficiency.
Before starting each shift, operators shall first complete basic ergonomic adjustment of the equipment according to their own body parameters. First, adjust the height of the operation control handle to the position where the arm can naturally hang down and hold the handle without bending the wrist or raising the arm forcibly, avoid long-time wrist torsion that causes cumulative strain. Then check the standing platform, confirm the anti-slip pad is intact without obvious damage, the foot standing area is free of sundries that may block movement, adjust the side guard position to the proper distance that will not squeeze the thigh when standing normally.
During the operation process, keep a stable and natural standing posture: distribute the weight of two feet evenly on the standing platform, keep the core muscle slightly tightened, do not keep single foot bearing the whole body weight for a long time, do not lean the body out of the operation platform range to observe the surrounding conditions. When the equipment moves forward and turns, do not twist the waist sharply to pull the steering handle, drive the upper body to rotate naturally with the direction adjustment of the equipment, keep the wrist in a relaxed neutral position when pushing and pulling the control lever, do not apply excessive external force to the handle with brute force. When loading and unloading goods, make full use of the lifting function of the electric pallet truck to adjust the tray height to the position flush with the waist, avoid bending down to lift or drag heavy goods directly, reduce the extra load on the lumbar spine.
It is also recommended to arrange short rest breaks every 40 to 45 minutes of continuous operation, leave the equipment to do simple stretching movements for shoulders, necks, wrists and waist, relieve the muscle tension kept in the operation state, and avoid long-term continuous operation leading to accumulated fatigue. Long-term adherence to these ergonomic principles can effectively reduce the probability of chronic occupational strain, and create a more comfortable and safe working state for frontline material handling personnel.
