Against the background of rapid development of small-parts e-commerce warehouses and hardware accessory storage facilities, high-bay light-load handling scenarios have put forward more refined requirements for electric stacking equipment. Many warehouse operators often feel confused when choosing between single-mast and twin-mast electric stackers, as the two configurations show different advantages in different operation links.
First, for single-mast electric stacker configurations, the integrated single support mast structure reduces the overall self-weight of the whole equipment, and brings a smaller turning radius to the vehicle body. This type of product can flexibly pass through operation channels with a width of less than 2 meters, which is very friendly for small and medium-sized warehouses with limited site space. The conventional lifting height of single-mast electric stackers ranges from 3 meters to 5 meters, which can meet the basic storage and retrieval demands of most low and medium high-bay shelves. As the number of moving mechanical parts is relatively small in the mast system, the daily maintenance work is simpler, and the long-term operation energy consumption is also at a relatively low level. The operation threshold for frontline staff is also low, new employees can master basic operation skills after short-term standardized training.
Then for twin-mast electric stacker configurations, the symmetrical double support mast structure provides more stable lateral support force in the whole lifting process. Its maximum lifting height can reach 8 meters or even higher, which can fully adapt to the operation demands of extra-high shelves in large-scale storage centers. Even when the cargo platform rises to the maximum design height, the small lateral shaking amplitude can effectively avoid the risk of scattered small light-load goods falling from the platform. The load redundancy of twin-mast electric stackers is relatively higher, which can cope with occasional temporary operation demands of slight overloading without causing abnormal wear of the mast structure. This type of equipment is suitable for large operation scenarios with dense high-bay shelves and long daily operation duration.
When selecting the proper configuration, warehouse operators can make decisions according to their actual operation indicators. If the maximum lifting height demand of the site is within 5 meters, and the channel width is narrow, the single-mast electric stacker can fully cover the daily operation needs with lower procurement cost. If the site needs to complete cargo access work at a height of more than 6 meters, the twin-mast electric stacker can bring more stable operation experience. There is no absolute distinction between good and bad for the two configurations, and matching with actual scenarios is the core principle of equipment selection.
