First, pre-operation verification and preparation work
Low-ceiling warehouses usually have limited overhead net height, with dense pipelines, lighting fixtures and fire protection facilities installed on the top, so operators must complete full verification before starting electric forklift operations. First, confirm the maximum allowable overhead clearance of the current working area, compare it with the minimum retracted height and maximum lifting height of the electric forklift mast, and post clear height warning marks at the corresponding operation position. Second, inspect all traveling paths in advance, mark the positions of overhead protrusions that may block the mast, and confirm that the sum of the height of the loaded goods and the lifting height of the mast will not exceed the limit of the overhead net space. Operators are not allowed to judge the height with personal experience alone, which may easily lead to missed hidden dangers.
Second, standardized operation specifications in the working process
During the whole driving process, except for the necessary stage of picking and placing goods at the designated storage position, the mast of the electric forklift must be retracted to the preset low safety height, usually 15 to 20 cm above the ground. Operators are prohibited from driving for a long distance with the mast lifted. When turning or passing through areas with dense columns and overhead pipelines, operators should reduce the speed appropriately, and observe the distance between the top of the mast and the overhead obstacles at any time. It is not allowed to lift the mast suddenly in the moving process. If the operator finds that the estimated height is insufficient during operation, he should decelerate steadily, lower the mast gradually, and do not turn the steering wheel sharply to avoid side slipping of goods.
Third, daily management and regular training mechanism
The warehouse management team should regularly calibrate the mast height limit device of the electric forklift, to ensure that the acousto-optic prompt will be triggered once the mast height approaches the maximum allowable value in the low-ceiling operation scenario. All operators must receive special training for low-clearance operation scenes, and can only take up their posts after passing the assessment. The team shall organize weekly hidden danger inspection, clean up temporary suspended wires and sundries above the operation area, and dynamically update the net height identification of different operation areas. Strict implementation of these rules can effectively reduce the occurrence of mast collision accidents, and maintain the stable and efficient development of warehouse logistics operation.
