Paper industry warehouses feature distinct operation characteristics that put forward higher requirements for material handling equipment. Large batches of finished paper rolls and packaged paper products usually have relatively heavy unit weight, most warehouses run 2 to 3 shifts of continuous operation every day, and the stacked high racks also require equipment to complete stable and accurate high-position stacking and retrieval work. Before launching the formal procurement process, the operation management team of the warehouse needs to make clear the actual operation pain points of the site first. The first core evaluation dimension is parameter matching. Operators shall calculate the maximum weight of frequently handled materials, the maximum height of stacking positions, and the average daily operation duration, to select equipment with matched load capacity, lifting height and battery capacity, making sure the equipment can support continuous full-load operation for a whole shift without mid-shift power supplement.
The second evaluation dimension is scenario adaptation. Paper industry warehouses usually store a large amount of paper products that are sensitive to water, dust and smoke, so the selected high-capacity lithium forklift shall meet corresponding protection level standards, to avoid the risk of circuit failure caused by paper dust accumulation, and ensure no exhaust emission during operation to prevent possible pollution to finished paper products. For warehouses with narrow access aisles, the turning radius of the equipment shall also be taken into full consideration, to guarantee flexible and safe operation between high racks.
The third core reference point is total operation cost accounting. The procurement team shall not only focus on the one-time initial procurement cost, but also calculate the long-term energy consumption cost, daily maintenance cost and battery cycle life of the equipment. High-capacity lithium forklifts usually have relatively low daily maintenance demands, and their stable performance in long-term use can effectively reduce unexpected downtime caused by equipment faults.
It is also recommended to arrange on-site trial operation of the equipment before confirming the final procurement contract. The warehouse team can verify the actual operation performance of the forklift in real typical scenarios, including heavy paper roll handling, high-position stacking, long-distance material transfer, to confirm the performance of the equipment fully matches the actual operation demand of the paper industry warehouse, and lay a solid foundation for subsequent efficient and stable storage operation.
