When a facility introduces a new lithium forklift fleet, a well-structured operator training schedule is critical to ensuring smooth daily operations, minimizing safety risks and extending the service life of the equipment. Unlike traditional lead-acid forklifts, lithium-powered models have unique features in charging rules, energy management and performance response, which require targeted training arrangements to help all operators master correct operation norms quickly.
In the pre-deployment preparation phase before the new fleet is officially put into use, arrange 2 to 3 hours of centralized theoretical training for all potential operators in non-working hours. The training content covers the basic performance characteristics of lithium forklifts, mandatory safety operation specifications, prohibited operation scenarios, and correct daily pre-inspection steps. This phase should avoid occupying peak production hours, so as not to affect the normal operation of daily material handling. You can divide all operators into small groups of 4 to 6 people to ensure that every trainee can ask questions and get clear replies in time, avoiding information missing caused by too large training groups.
After the lithium forklifts are delivered to the site, arrange 4 hours of guided practical operation for each trainee under the supervision of professional certified instructors. The practical sessions should be arranged in batches in a designated idle safe area of the warehouse, with no other irrelevant personnel or goods stacked around to avoid accidental collision risks. The schedule should arrange trainees with previous forklift operation experience in the earlier batches, so that they can assist the instructor to guide new operators in the later stage after passing the assessment, which can shorten the overall training cycle reasonably without reducing the training quality.
After all operators complete the initial theoretical and practical training, arrange a 1-week probation observation period. During this period, the safety management personnel will conduct 1 to 2 random spot checks every day to record the non-standard operation behaviors of operators, and arrange 30 minutes of targeted re-training for relevant personnel after off-duty every day. After the whole fleet has been running for 3 months, arrange a 1-hour centralized refresh training for all operators, to update relevant operation norms according to the actual usage scenarios encountered in the previous stage. When making the whole schedule, you should fully consider the work shift characteristics of your facility, reserve sufficient flexible adjustment space, and never arrange over-dense training sessions that make trainees too tired to absorb key contents. A reasonable training schedule can help you give full play to the performance advantages of the new lithium forklift fleet, create a safer and more efficient material handling working environment.
