As a core type of new energy material handling equipment, electric forklifts have been widely adopted in various industrial storage and logistics scenarios in recent years. Mastering correct use and management methods can give full play to the equipment’s own value and bring stable support for daily material handling work.
Core Performance Characteristics of Electric Forklifts
Compared with traditional fuel-powered handling equipment, modern electric forklifts produce no exhaust emission at the operation site, and the overall operation noise is kept at a relatively low level, which can meet the environmental access requirements of indoor closed warehouses, cold storage, and scenes with high hygiene standards such as food and pharmaceutical storage. The power output of the electric drive system is more stable, the movement of the lifting and steering mechanism is smoother, and the vibration generated during operation is lower, which can reduce the risk of collision and damage to fragile goods on the pallet, and effectively improve the safety of cargo handling.
Standardized Daily Operation Norms
Before each shift, operators need to complete necessary pre-inspection work, including checking the remaining battery power, the sensitivity of the braking system, the tightness of the lifting chain, and the flexibility of the steering mechanism, and can start the formal operation only after confirming that all indicators are in normal state. During the operation, the rated load capacity of the equipment shall not be exceeded, and high-speed driving is prohibited when the goods on the fork are lifted to a high position. When driving on a sloped road, keep the goods facing the upper slope direction, do not turn on the slope, and avoid sudden braking operations that may cause the goods to fall. After the daily work is over, park the equipment in the designated area, turn off the main power switch, and pull the hand brake to avoid potential safety hazards.
Routine Maintenance Points
In daily maintenance, operators can regularly wipe the dust and residual debris on the surface of the equipment and the battery contact electrode, and avoid using high-pressure water to directly wash the electronic control components to prevent short circuit damage. According to the operation manual’s guidance, add lubricating oil to the moving connection parts such as the steering shaft and the lifting roller on a regular basis to keep the operation of the mechanism smooth. When the battery power is consumed to about 20% of the total capacity, arrange timely charging, avoid long-term over-discharge, and do not store the equipment in a state of severe power loss for a long time. Regularly check the aging degree of the internal circuit wires, and replace the damaged wires in time to reduce the failure rate in daily use. Scientific operation and maintenance can effectively extend the service life of electric forklifts, reduce the comprehensive operating cost of the material handling link, and create more stable value for the daily operation of the warehouse.
