Start with foundational consolidation at the manual pallet jack operation phase, which lays a core common sense base for subsequent equipment upgrade. At this stage, trainees will deepen their understanding of basic load weight judgment, warehouse passage obstacle check, correct force application for manual handling, and hidden risk identification such as unbalanced pallet load and slippery ground. All trainees need to pass the practical assessment of full-shift manual pallet jack operation with zero safety violation before entering the next training phase, to ensure they have formed stable operation awareness of warehouse material handling scenarios.
The second phase focuses on theoretical transition learning for electric pallet trucks. Trainees will systematically learn the structural difference between electric pallet trucks and manual pallet jacks, working logic of the power system, braking response characteristics, distribution of safety protection components, as well as official operation specifications including load capacity curve requirements, emergency stop trigger conditions, and no-load idle running prohibition rule. A closed-book test with full coverage of core safety knowledge is required before any hands-on practice of electric equipment, to eliminate cognitive blind spots that may cause operation risks.
The third phase is low-load simulated practical training, carried out in a closed, non-working warehouse zone with no irrelevant personnel. Trainees first get familiar with basic operation actions under no-load status, including forward and backward movement, steering adjustment, pallet picking and placing, to get rid of the old operation habit of pulling or pushing with excessive force that formed in manual pallet jack operation. Then trainees gradually increase the load to the rated 70% level, practice slow passing at narrow corners, low-speed turn in small space, to master the operation rhythm different from manual equipment.
The last phase covers real scenario adaptation and post-training assessment. Trainees will complete auxiliary operation under the guidance of certified senior operators in non-peak working hours, get familiar with special working conditions including slight ramp passing, wet ground braking, high-position shelf cargo access, as well as daily pre-shift inspection steps and common emergency handling methods. After passing the comprehensive assessment combining theoretical knowledge and full-scenario practical operation, trainees can get the formal qualification of independent electric pallet truck operation, and regular quarterly retraining is arranged to consolidate operation skills and update safety awareness.
