As low-carbon logistics and refined warehouse management gradually become the mainstream trend of modern industrial material handling, electric forklifts have obtained wider application scope in multiple industrial scenarios in recent years. Different from internal combustion power counterparts, electric forklifts rely on electric drive system, featuring lower running noise and no tail gas emission, which puts forward different targeted requirements for operators’ use habits and daily management rules.
Basic Operation Norms for Safe Daily Use
For new operators, the first priority is to complete full pre-start inspection before each shift, including checking the remaining power of the power supply, the flexibility of the lifting hydraulic system, the wear condition of driving wheels and the sensitivity of the braking system. Operators should adjust driving speed according to actual site conditions, keep a safe distance from surrounding personnel and shelf facilities, and avoid sudden steering or emergency braking when carrying heavy loads to prevent cargo falling or equipment side tilting. It is also not recommended to drive electric forklifts on roads with large slopes that exceed the design load bearing capacity, which may cause extra loss to the drive motor and power supply unit.
Routine Maintenance to Extend Stable Service Life
Routine daily maintenance work does not require complex professional skills, and frontline management personnel can complete most inspection and adjustment work according to the official operation manual. After each shift, operators should wipe the dust and sundries attached to the equipment surface, clean the sundries stuck in the gap of the driving wheel, and check the connection condition of the power supply interface to avoid poor contact caused by long-term dust accumulation. For the power supply unit, it is suggested to complete charging operation in the specified dry and ventilated area, avoid overcharging or full power loss storage for a long time, which can effectively keep the overall performance of the power supply in a stable state for a long period. Regular lubrication of the transmission and lifting connection parts can reduce friction loss, and greatly lower the probability of unexpected equipment failure in daily use.
Energy Efficiency Optimization for Better Operation Effect
In actual warehouse operation, reasonable operation habits can effectively reduce unnecessary power consumption and improve the single shift working duration of electric forklifts. Operators can plan the handling route in advance before the operation peak, reduce unnecessary repeated steering and short distance empty load driving, and properly arrange the goods stacking sequence according to the load weight limit of the equipment, so as to avoid overloading operation that brings extra power consumption. For warehouse managers, they can arrange the charging plan reasonably according to the actual operation peak, to ensure that the number of available electric forklifts meets the peak handling demand, so as to obtain more stable overall operation efficiency.
