To complete electric pallet truck daily material handling tasks safely and efficiently, load-securing is a core operating link that directly affects cargo integrity, personnel safety and overall warehouse operation efficiency. Unstandardized load securing behaviors may lead to cargo shifting, falling off during moving, or even unexpected collision accidents in narrow warehouse aisles, which will cause unnecessary operation loss. Targeted systematic operator drills can help frontline workers form stable correct operation habits, and avoid unskillful misoperations in real work scenarios.
The first module of the drills is pre-operation basic cognition assessment. Before starting practical drills, organizers will guide all participating operators to identify different types of common loads, including regular boxed goods, scattered bulk goods, easily slippery packaged goods and overweight special goods, help them get familiar with the corresponding load center of gravity range and maximum allowable overhang size for standard pallets matched with electric pallet trucks. This step can ensure all operators master the basic judgment logic before touching actual cargo, avoid blind wrong operations in subsequent links.
The second module is simulated scene step-by-step practical drills. The first sub-drill is load centering adjustment practice, operators need to place scattered goods or whole pallet goods evenly distributed on the central area of the pallet, adjust the position repeatedly to ensure no obvious unilateral deviation of the center of gravity. The second sub-drill is auxiliary fixing operation practice, for slippery or easy-to-collapse loads, operators can choose appropriate non-slip mats or binding straps to reinforce the load, master the proper tension to neither damage the package of goods nor leave loose gap that may cause slipping. The third sub-drill is dynamic moving verification practice, operators drive the electric pallet truck at low speed in the simulated warehouse channel with small ramp and speed bump, feel the stability state of the load during moving, and stop timely to adjust if any shifting sign appears.
The last module of the drills is post-drill summary and regular review. After each drill, trainers will collect typical wrong operations appeared in the practice process, explain the potential hidden risks of each misoperation one by one, and arrange regular repeated drills every 2 to 3 months to consolidate the operation skills. Such mechanism can help operators keep good operation habits in long-term daily work, and maintain stable safety level for all electric pallet truck load handling tasks.
