Clarifying their parameter and functional differences can help teams make more targeted selection decisions to match actual operation demands.
For core parameter differences, the first dimension refers to load and dimension related settings. For standard electric pallet trucks, the rated load range usually covers 1 ton to 3 tons, with the load center distance set between 480mm and 600mm. The overall fork height of this type of equipment is usually lower than 220mm, and the minimum required working aisle width is between 1.8 meters and 2.2 meters, which adapts to most narrow horizontal passage designs in ordinary warehouses. For standard electric stackers, the main rated load range focuses on 1 ton to 2 tons, and the maximum lifting height varies from 1.6 meters to 5.5 meters according to different mast configurations. The overall no-load height of electric stackers varies greatly with different lifting height settings, and the minimum required working aisle width is usually between 2.2 meters and 2.8 meters to reserve enough space for the lifting operation.
The second dimension of parameter difference lies in power configuration. The travel motor of ordinary electric pallet trucks usually ranges from 1.2kw to 2.2kw, which can meet the demand of full-load horizontal moving on flat ground. The battery capacity configuration of such equipment is usually between 20Ah and 60Ah, to support 4 to 6 hours of continuous horizontal transportation operation. For electric stackers, besides the travel motor with similar power range, there is an independent lifting motor with power ranging from 2.2kw to 5kw, to output stable power support for the whole set of mast to lift full-load pallets. Due to the higher energy consumption brought by frequent lifting actions, most electric stackers are equipped with larger capacity battery packs, to guarantee the same continuous operation duration as electric pallet trucks under normal working intensity.
For core functional differences, electric pallet trucks are designed to focus on long distance horizontal transportation of whole pallets. This type of equipment can finish full load moving between storage areas and loading and unloading platforms flexibly, with small turning radius and low operation threshold, which can reduce the working fatigue of operators during long time continuous transportation. Some models with low support legs can also adapt to pallets with two-way fork entry.
Electric stackers reserve the basic short distance moving function, and the core expansion function is high position pallet stacking and shelf access. It can lift the whole pallet to the designated height to complete storage or picking actions, which is suitable for daily operation of low and medium height shelves in ordinary warehouses. Reasonable selection between the two types of equipment according to actual core operation demands can effectively reduce unnecessary operation cost and improve the overall flow efficiency of warehouse logistics.
