Electric forklifts have become one of the most widely used material handling equipment in modern warehousing, manufacturing and logistics scenarios, thanks to their low noise, zero on-site emissions and relatively low long-term operating costs. For frontline operators and facility management teams, mastering the correct use and maintenance logic of electric forklifts can effectively extend the service cycle of equipment, reduce unexpected downtime, and create stable value for daily material handling workflows.
Standardized Daily Operation Specifications
When starting the electric forklift before each shift, operators should avoid pressing the acceleration pedal sharply to avoid instantaneous impact on the motor and power supply system. During the driving process, the vehicle should keep a safe distance from surrounding personnel, shelves and stacked goods, and the load weight should not exceed the rated load range marked on the equipment nameplate. When carrying goods at heights, operators should avoid sharp turns or sudden braking, to prevent the goods from slipping and causing unnecessary safety risks. In low visibility scenarios such as narrow aisles or night operations, the supporting lighting and warning sound equipment of the forklift should be kept in normal working state at all times.
Routine Equipment Inspection and Maintenance Points
After each shift, operators should check the surface condition of the power supply module first, wipe off the dust, spilled cargo residues and moisture on the outer shell, and confirm that the connecting terminals are free of obvious looseness or abnormal heating traces. The wear degree of the tire tread and the brake sensitivity should be checked every three working days, and foreign objects embedded in the tire gaps should be removed in time to avoid abnormal vibration during driving. For the hydraulic lifting system, check whether there is oil leakage at the sealing position of the piston rod every week, and add the lubricating oil that meets the specification requirements for the movable connection parts of the door frame on schedule.
Long-term Usage Efficiency Optimization Suggestions
In the daily parking process of the electric forklift, it is recommended to park the vehicle in a dry and ventilated area with stable temperature, avoid long-term exposure to extreme high temperature or extremely low temperature environment, which will cause additional loss to the internal performance of the power system. When the equipment is not used for a long time, the power module should be kept at a reasonable state of charge, and regular supplementary charging operations should be carried out according to the official operation manual, so as to avoid the irreversible capacity attenuation caused by the power being in a depleted state for a long time. Regularly arrange professional personnel to check the operation parameters of the motor and control system, adjust the response sensitivity of each component to match the actual operation intensity of the site, so as to maintain the efficient operation state of the equipment for a long time.
