Electric pallet trucks are widely adopted for short-distance material handling in warehouse, logistics and manufacturing scenarios. When applied to transport gas cylinders or hazardous goods that carry flammable, corrosive or pressure-bearing risks, standardized operation is the core premise to avoid safety accidents. All relevant operators shall receive targeted safety training before carrying out such transportation work.
Pre-operation preparation and inspection are the first critical step. Operators shall check the vehicle’s brake system, travel control function and battery status before starting work, to ensure no abnormal conditions that may affect normal operation. The fork arms shall be checked for no obvious deformation or crack that may cause cargo slipping. Relevant personal protective equipment including safety shoes, anti-static overalls and necessary protective gloves shall be worn properly. Personnel without corresponding operation training are not allowed to engage in this type of transportation work.
Loading and securing work must follow strict specifications. For gas cylinder transportation, all cylinders shall be placed vertically on the load platform of the electric pallet truck, and fixed with dedicated anti-slip binding belts to avoid rolling or tipping during movement. It is forbidden to stack gas cylinders horizontally without dedicated fixing devices. For hazardous goods, operators shall confirm the outer packaging is intact with clear safety labels, and strictly control the total load within the rated load range of the vehicle. The center of gravity of the loaded cargo shall be kept at a low and middle position of the platform to prevent side tipping during operation.
During the whole transportation process, operators shall keep the travel speed below the normal walking speed of surrounding personnel, slow down fully when passing corners or narrow aisles, and avoid sudden acceleration or emergency braking. The pre-planned transportation route shall avoid dense personnel areas, heat sources, open fire points and places with stacked sharp sundries. Operators shall keep continuous attention to the status of the loaded cargo, and stop the vehicle in a safe area in time once abnormal slipping or loosening of the fixing device is found.
After the transportation task is completed, the electric pallet truck shall be parked in the designated safe area, and the load platform shall be cleaned to remove residual debris or possible trace leakage of hazardous goods. If small abnormal leakage of hazardous goods or gas cylinders is found during operation, operators shall immediately turn off the vehicle power, evacuate surrounding relevant personnel, and report the situation to the on-site safety management personnel for professional disposal, instead of handling the dangerous situation privately.
