In recent years, electric forklifts have become a mainstream choice for indoor and closed-site material handling scenarios, thanks to their low noise, zero local emission and relatively stable operation characteristics. For frontline operation teams and logistics managers, mastering systematic operation and maintenance rules can bring obvious improvements to the whole workflow, without extra high investment in equipment renewal.
Core Daily Operation Specifications
Before each formal shift, operators need to complete a series of basic pre-checks, including confirming remaining battery power, testing the flexibility of the brake and steering system, checking the wear condition of forks and load backrest, and removing hidden obstacles on the planned operation path. During the operation process, operators should keep the load within the rated load range, avoid sudden acceleration or emergency brake on uneven or damp ground, and adjust the fork insertion depth according to the size of the pallet to prevent goods from slipping off in the handling process. For different operation heights, operators should adjust the lifting speed smoothly, to reduce the impact force on the mast structure.
Scientific Routine Maintenance Measures
Routine maintenance work does not require complex professional skills, and most steps can be completed by trained on-site operators. After each shift, workers need to wipe off the dust and sundries attached to the vehicle body, especially the dust accumulated on the surface of the radiator and the ventilation holes of the battery compartment. For the power battery module, operators should avoid deep discharging the battery to extremely low power level, and follow the standard charging procedure to finish charging in a well-ventilated, temperature-controlled area. Regularly check the tightness of the circuit connection interface and the oil level of the hydraulic system, to find minor abnormal conditions in advance before they develop into larger faults.
Scenario-based Efficiency Optimization Suggestions
For narrow aisle warehousing scenarios, operation teams can adjust the pre-set steering angle parameters of the forklift properly according to the actual aisle width, to reduce unnecessary turning distance. For high-position storage and retrieval scenarios, workers can arrange the handling sequence reasonably according to the position of the goods, to cut down repeated adjustment of the fork height during continuous operation. Cooperating with the overall warehouse dynamic path planning, arranging the parking position of idle electric forklifts near the high-frequency operation area can also reduce extra empty driving time. Reasonable matching of operation habits and on-site scenarios can help the whole material handling system run more smoothly in long-term use.
