The charging station area for electric forklifts is a special functional zone with dense power facilities, stacked power batteries and frequent vehicle flow, which faces unique hidden risks such as accidental electrolyte leakage, abnormal battery heating and cable damage. Regular organized emergency evacuation drills can help all on-site personnel form correct response habits when encountering unexpected conditions, and avoid secondary injuries caused by chaotic operation in real emergencies.
Before launching the formal drill, the management team needs to complete full preliminary preparation work first. It is necessary to draw a clear boundary between the drill activity area and the daily operation area of the charging station in advance, set up obvious reminder signs to avoid affecting the normal operation of other work areas, and notify all on-site staff of the drill schedule through internal notification channels to prevent unnecessary panic caused by sudden alarm signals. The team also needs to sort out all the obstacle distribution in the evacuation route, mark the position of each emergency exit, safety assembly point and fire protection facility, and divide the participating personnel into several functional groups including coordination team, evacuation guidance team and on-site security team to clarify the responsibility scope of each post.
The formal drill can be set to start with a simulated scenario of abnormal battery heating during forklift charging. The first discoverer of the simulated situation should press the nearby emergency alarm device immediately, and report the location and basic situation of the abnormality to the safety management person through intercom, instead of attempting to deal with the unconfirmed hidden danger alone without professional protection. After the alarm is issued, the evacuation guidance team will quickly move to each key node of the evacuation route, guide all staff in the charging station area to move to the pre-marked safety assembly point along the unobstructed passage, remind everyone to avoid the possible leaked liquid area and scattered cables on the road, and do not turn back to take personal belongings. The security team will block all entrances and exits of the charging operation area immediately after the evacuation starts, to prevent unrelated personnel and vehicles from entering the dangerous area by mistake. After all personnel arrive at the assembly point, the person in charge will count the number of participants one by one to confirm no one is missing in the operation area.
After the drill is completed, the management team needs to organize all participants to carry out a summary review, collect feedback on problems found in the process, such as temporary occupation of evacuation passages by idle forklifts, insufficient alarm signal volume in partial corners, and make targeted rectification as soon as possible. It is recommended to arrange at least one full-coverage emergency evacuation drill every quarter, and all new personnel who need to enter the charging station area for operation must complete the drill experience and related safety training before taking up their posts. Regular standardized drills can effectively improve the overall safety management level of the warehouse operation site, and provide stable support for the continuous and orderly operation of daily material handling work.
