Against the continuous promotion of low-carbon production concepts across global industrial sectors, electric forklifts have gradually become one of the most widely used material handling equipment in closed warehouse, manufacturing workshop and urban logistics distribution scenarios. For frontline operators and equipment managers, mastering systematic knowledge of electric forklift use and maintenance can bring tangible benefits to daily operation.
Core Operational Advantages of Electric Forklifts
Different from traditional internal combustion handling equipment, electric forklifts rely on electric power drive systems to complete all lifting and traveling actions, which produces almost no exhaust emission during the whole working process. This feature makes them highly adaptable to scenarios with high requirements for air cleanliness, such as food storage warehouses, pharmaceutical production workshops and enclosed retail stock rooms. The noise generated during normal operation is also controlled at a relatively low level, which will not cause continuous noise interference to staff working in the same space for a long time. In terms of daily energy cost, the power consumption required for full load operation per hour is far lower than the fuel cost of internal combustion equipment of the same load level, which helps enterprises control long-term operating expenditure properly.
Standardized Daily Maintenance Guidelines
Regular scientific maintenance can effectively extend the stable service cycle of electric forklifts, and reduce unexpected downtime caused by minor faults. Operators can conduct basic inspection work before each shift, including checking the remaining power level of the power battery, confirming that the electrode connection part has no obvious oxidation or loose contact, testing the sensitivity of the braking system and lifting control lever, and clearing the dust accumulation on the surface of the heat dissipation structure. For equipment that needs to be parked for more than 3 days, it is recommended to charge the battery to 50% to 70% state to avoid irreversible capacity loss caused by over discharge. It is not recommended to wash the equipment with high pressure water gun directly, to prevent moisture from entering the internal circuit and causing short circuit risk.
Key Safety Operation Principles
Operators need to receive corresponding systematic operation training before officially using electric forklifts. They should not exceed the rated load weight marked on the equipment when lifting goods, and keep the goods at a low position when traveling in narrow channels to avoid tipping risks. When passing through ramps with large slopes, keep the equipment moving in a straight line instead of turning on the slope, to ensure the stability of the whole vehicle. Following these basic operation rules can effectively reduce the occurrence of safety accidents, and give full play to the use value of electric forklifts in all kinds of material handling scenes.
