During peak inventory turnover seasons, most warehouses will hire a large number of temporary and seasonal staff to cope with increased material handling demands. Most of these new employees do not have prior operation experience of electric pallet trucks, and irregular operation behaviors will easily lead to goods damage, personnel injury and other hidden dangers, so targeted systematic training for this group is particularly necessary.
The first core module of the training is basic cognition and universal safety specification learning. Before any contact with the equipment, trainees need to master the basic structure of the electric pallet truck, including the function of the operation handle, the position of the emergency stop button, the standard load limit and the daily pre-use inspection items. Trainees need to learn to check the battery power, wheel flexibility and brake sensitivity before each shift, and pass the offline written assessment of basic safety rules before they can enter the practical operation link.
The second core module is scenario-based practical operation training, which needs to be led by experienced certified on-site instructors. The training will simulate the common operation scenarios in daily warehouse work, including narrow aisle turning, low-speed passing of ramp areas, accurate docking with truck platforms, and safe picking and placing of heavy pallets. In the whole process, instructors will correct wrong habits of trainees in time, such as overloading, carrying other people on the equipment, sudden braking in the fast moving state, to help trainees form standardized operation reflexes.
The third core module is emergency response training, which teaches trainees to correctly handle common unexpected situations in operation. When encountering sudden equipment power failure, unbalanced tilted goods, wet and slippery ground and other abnormal conditions, trainees should trigger the emergency stop button at the first time, evacuate the surrounding personnel, and report the situation to the on-site management personnel, instead of trying to disassemble the equipment or force the moving of tilted goods without permission.
After the initial training, warehouses can also arrange regular spot checks and refresher training for temporary and seasonal staff every 10 to 15 days, to help them consolidate operation skills and safety awareness. This complete training system fully complies with local occupational safety management regulations, effectively reduces the occurrence of operation accidents, reduces unnecessary equipment loss, and also helps improve the overall operation efficiency of the warehouse.
