Against the backdrop of growing demand for low-carbon and efficient material handling in the logistics and warehousing sector, electric forklifts have become widely applied equipment for indoor cargo movement. Mastering scientific use and maintenance rules helps operators give full play to the equipment’s performance while avoiding unnecessary safety risks.
Pre-operation Basic Inspection Protocols
Before each startup, operators are suggested to check the remaining power level of the power supply system first, confirm no exposed wiring or loose connector on the battery surface. Next, test the sensitivity of the braking system, lifting control lever and steering mechanism, check the wear condition of the walking wheels to ensure no obvious cracks or embedded sharp sundries. It is also necessary to clear the sundries on the operation pedal and surrounding working area, to eliminate hidden dangers that may cause slip or misoperation in the subsequent working process.
Standard Operation Specifications for Daily Scenarios
During the operation process, operators should follow the rated load parameter of the equipment, avoid long-time overloading operation which may cause extra load on the power system and hydraulic lifting structure. When moving on sloped roads with a gradient within the allowable range, keep the cargo side facing the upper slope direction, do not turn on the slope to avoid side slip. It is recommended to keep a stable moving speed in narrow warehouse aisles, reduce frequent sudden acceleration and sudden braking, to extend the service life of core components.
Routine Maintenance Measures for Long-term Stable Operation
After finishing daily work, operators should park the equipment at the designated position, lower the fork to contact the ground, cut off the main power supply in time. Conduct regular cleaning of the dust attached to the surface of the power interface, apply a thin layer of protective grease on the contact points to avoid poor contact caused by oxidation. Arrange regular inspection of the hydraulic oil level and sealing condition of the oil pipeline, add corresponding lubricant to the rotating and sliding parts of the equipment as required, to reduce friction loss in the working process.
