When more logistics, manufacturing and distribution enterprises start to promote standardized electric forklift operation training, building a dedicated independent training room or simulation area has become a cost-effective choice to avoid potential safety hazards caused by direct operation in actual production sites. A reasonably designed simulation training area can help trainees get familiar with basic operation logic in a low-risk environment, effectively reduce the collision and goods damage accidents caused by unskilled operation in actual work.
The first step of construction is to complete the pre-construction demand assessment. You need to confirm the number of regular trainees, the available indoor or outdoor idle space that can be used for training, and the local safety management specifications for industrial vehicle operation training. It is recommended to reserve 1.5 times of the actual operation space required for normal training, keep the whole training area away from the public passage with high pedestrian flow, and lay anti-skid and wear-resistant materials on the ground, to avoid sideslip or tipping risk of electric training forklift caused by uneven or slippery ground.
The second step is to carry out reasonable functional zoning. Set up a separate theoretical teaching area at the entrance of the whole space, which can be equipped with display boards for electric forklift operation safety rules, basic operation process demonstration equipment, and rest seats for trainees, so as to avoid irrelevant personnel accidentally entering the operation simulation area. The core simulation operation area needs to restore the common scenarios in daily work as much as possible, including standard pallet stacking scene, narrow aisle passing scene, small slope parking scene and loading and unloading platform docking scene. All the edges of the simulated facilities shall be wrapped with soft buffer materials, to avoid scratch injury caused by accidental collision.
Then you need to complete the supporting safety configuration. Mark clear warning signs around the whole simulation area, draw yellow isolation lines to restrict non-training personnel from entering the operation zone, and place regular emergency protection supplies at the designated position. The training electric forklift used in the area can be set at a low maximum speed, to reduce the impact force caused by misoperation.
After the whole area is put into use, you can also adjust the simulation scenarios regularly according to the actual operation characteristics of the enterprise, update the training assessment items, to continuously improve the matching degree between trainee skills and actual work demands.
