As a senior professional who has been deeply engaged in the electric forklift industry for years, we have noticed that more and more logistics, warehousing and light manufacturing enterprises choose electric forklifts as core material handling equipment, for their features of low running noise, zero on-site emissions and lower long-term energy consumption compared with traditional internal combustion counterparts. However, a large number of frontline operation and management teams still lack systematic mastery of standardized usage rules, which may cause unnecessary performance attenuation, unexpected downtime or potential safety risks in daily work.
Basic Pre-operation Daily Inspection Rules
Before each shift of electric forklift operation, operators shall complete a series of simple but necessary inspection procedures first. It is recommended to check the braking sensitivity, real-time power display status, tire wear degree and the surface deformation condition of the fork arms first, to confirm no obvious abnormal hidden troubles exist. Operators shall confirm the rated load parameter of the current equipment clearly before handling goods, and do not carry goods that exceed the specified load range. It is also not suggested to drive the electric forklift on the road with water accumulation depth beyond the equipment protection level, to avoid damage to the internal electrical components.
Scientific Battery Usage and Maintenance Notes
The power battery module is the core component that affects the overall working performance of electric forklifts. Operators shall avoid over-discharging the battery in daily use, and try to complete full charging after the remaining power drops to the set warning range. It is not recommended to store the electric forklift in a state of insufficient power for a long time, which may cause irreversible attenuation of the total battery capacity. The charging area shall be kept dry, ventilated and far away from high temperature heat sources, and operators shall regularly clean the dust and oxide layer on the battery terminal positions to keep good conductivity.
Operation Skill Optimization for Conventional Scenarios
In the daily operation process, operators shall avoid frequent sharp acceleration and emergency braking, to reduce extra loss of power consumption and wear of driving components. When driving in narrow warehouse aisles, the travel speed shall be controlled within the safe range, and operators shall remind surrounding staff in advance before turning. It is not advised to travel for long distances with the forks lifted at a high position when carrying heavy loads, to prevent the goods from slipping accidentally. The transmission parts and lifting guide rails shall be supplemented with compliant lubricating grease regularly, to reduce the friction loss between metal components effectively. Standardized operation and targeted regular maintenance can give full play to the inherent advantages of electric forklifts, and provide more stable support for the daily material handling work of different industrial application scenarios.
