As one of the most widely used new energy material handling equipment in modern logistics scenarios, electric forklifts have been gradually popularized in different industries over recent years, and mastering correct operation and maintenance rules can help enterprises extend equipment service life and improve overall operation safety.
Core Functional Advantages of Electric Forklifts
Compared with traditional internal combustion powered handling equipment, electric forklifts produce no exhaust emission during operation, which can meet the environmental protection requirements of enclosed indoor spaces such as food warehouses, pharmaceutical storage areas and fresh product sorting centers. The overall noise level of running electric forklifts is much lower than that of fuel-powered models, which can reduce noise interference to surrounding workers and avoid the problem of noise pollution in closed working areas. The whole machine adopts electric drive structure, the response of power output is more stable, and the operation difficulty for new operators is relatively low after simple training.
Standardized Daily Operation Requirements
Before starting each shift, operators need to conduct a full pre-check on the equipment, including confirming the remaining battery power, checking the flexibility of the braking system, steering system and lifting hydraulic structure, and confirming that there is no obvious crack or deformation on the surface of the cargo fork. During the operation process, operators should avoid overloading the equipment beyond the rated load, keep a safe distance from surrounding shelves and passing personnel, and avoid sharp steering or sudden braking on slippery, uneven road surfaces. It is not recommended to use electric forklifts for long-time operation in open areas with heavy rain or severe water accumulation, to prevent damage to the built-in power module caused by water invasion.
Scientific Routine Maintenance Measures
For daily maintenance, operators need to regularly clean the dust and sundries attached to the surface of the equipment heat dissipation structure, check the tightness of the power interface regularly, and avoid poor contact caused by long-term use. When the equipment is left unused for a long time, it is necessary to keep the battery power at a reasonable level between 40% and 80%, and avoid long-term overcharge or over discharge which may cause irreversible damage to the battery unit. The hydraulic oil level of the lifting system should be checked once every 30 days of normal use, and add corresponding lubricating oil to the movable connection parts of the equipment on schedule, to reduce the wear loss of mechanical structure.
Reasonable Model Matching for Different Scenarios
When selecting electric forklift models, enterprises need to match parameters according to the actual operation scenarios. For narrow aisle warehouse scenarios, models with small turning radius can be selected to improve the utilization rate of warehouse space, while for high-lift storage scenarios, models with matching maximum lifting height can be selected to meet the access demand of high-level goods. Strictly using the equipment within the designed working condition range can maximize the performance advantage of electric forklifts, and create more stable value for daily material handling work.
