Beverage can warehouses feature extremely frequent pallet movement every day, with large batches of pallets loaded with neatly stacked aluminum cans flowing between storage zones, sorting areas and loading docks. As the core equipment for short-distance pallet transport, electric pallet jacks play a key role in ensuring smooth, stable and efficient daily operation of the whole warehouse.
Before starting daily operations, operators need to complete a full pre-shift check for the equipment first. Confirm that the remaining power of the equipment meets the estimated demand of the day’s operation volume, check the flexibility of the braking system, and observe if there is obvious abnormal wear on the fork surface and running wheels. Besides, operators need to inspect the planned operating paths in advance, clear scattered empty cans, packaging fragments and other sundries falling on the ground, to avoid skidding or tire jamming accidents during subsequent high-frequency movement.
During peak hours of high-volume pallet movement, operators shall maintain a safe following distance of no less than 1 meter from other running handling equipment, and never overtake in narrow passages. When forking pallets loaded with beverage cans, operators need to align the fork body with the reserved pallet entrance gently, avoid scraping the bottom layer of cans to cause tank deformation or material leakage. The lifting height of the fork shall be controlled between 5 cm to 10 cm above the ground, no need to lift the pallet too high, to reduce the risk of center of gravity shift when moving at a constant speed.
For daily routine maintenance, operators need to wipe off the residual beverage stains, can shavings and dust attached to the equipment body after each shift, check the running wheel gaps regularly to prevent foreign matter from being stuck. It is recommended to arrange supplemental charging in non-peak idle periods, avoid deep power loss that may affect the normal operation of the next shift.
During the whole operation process, operators shall give a short warning signal in advance when approaching corners, passage intersections and areas with dense personnel, to remind surrounding sorting staff and logistics collaborators to avoid in time. Following these operation specifications can effectively support the stable completion of daily high-volume pallet movement tasks, reduce unnecessary operation faults and safety risks, and maintain the orderly and smooth operation of the entire beverage can warehouse.
