With the continuous promotion of low-carbon operation concepts in the industrial storage sector, electric forklifts have become one of the most widely used material handling equipment in daily warehouse operation scenarios. Different from internal combustion forklifts, electric forklifts rely on power battery packs to provide driving and lifting power, so their use logic, operation requirements and maintenance rules have distinct characteristics that fit electric power systems. Mastering relevant professional knowledge can help relevant practitioners give full play to the performance of the equipment, avoid unnecessary operation risks, and create higher value for the whole logistics operation link.
Core Pre-operation Check Points
Before starting the equipment every day, operators need to complete a series of basic inspection work first, instead of directly starting the operation to grab work progress. The first step is to check the remaining power level of the battery pack, confirm that the power can support the planned operation volume of the whole shift, and avoid sudden power loss in the middle of high-altitude operation or heavy cargo handling process. The second step is to check the flexibility of the braking system, the intact state of the tire surface, the smoothness of the lifting hydraulic rod, and the normal display state of the instrument panel. If any abnormal situation is found, the equipment shall be transferred to the maintenance post for troubleshooting in time, and no operation with hidden dangers is allowed.
Standardized Daily Operation Norms
In the process of formal operation, operators need to strictly follow the operation process requirements to control the driving speed within the safe range corresponding to different site conditions. When turning, passing through narrow passages and meeting pedestrians, the speed should be reduced in advance to remind the surrounding personnel to avoid. When handling heavy goods, the weight of the goods shall be confirmed first to ensure that it is within the rated load range of the equipment, and the gantry shall be kept properly tilted backward to stabilize the goods during the driving process. It is not allowed to carry people on the cargo forks, or lift the overweight goods beyond the specification limit for a long time, so as to avoid unnecessary wear on the power system and hydraulic structure.
Targeted Routine Maintenance Tips
For the daily maintenance of electric forklifts, the core focus is on the health management of the power supply system, and the surface of the battery pack shall be kept clean and dry all the time. When the battery needs to be charged, it shall be carried out in the special ventilation and heat dissipation charging area, and the charging action shall not be forced to interrupt frequently in the case of incomplete power saturation. Operators should also regularly clean the dust and accumulated sundries in the motor heat dissipation tank, check the wear degree of the electrical wiring sheath, and replace the aging parts in time to extend the overall service life of the equipment.
