Electric pallet truck operation certification is a mandatory requirement for most warehouse and logistics workplace safety systems, which verifies that operators master proper operation norms to reduce workplace collision, load falling and other safety risks. The formal certification exam usually combines theoretical written test and practical scenario assessment, and the scenario-based test accounts for more than 60% of the total assessment weight to examine candidates' ability to deal with actual complex working conditions.
The first core test scenario is narrow aisle load handling assessment. In this scenario, the examiner sets a passage with a width 30% wider than the maximum overall width of the electric pallet truck, and places standard pallets with different load weights at both ends of the aisle. Candidates need to complete the whole process of picking up the pallet, transporting it through the narrow aisle, and placing it at the designated position without scraping the passage guardrail, misplacing the goods or making the load slide. The assessment will also check whether the candidate completes the pre-start equipment inspection as required before entering the aisle, including checking the remaining power of the equipment, the flexibility of the braking system, and the smoothness of the lifting function.
The second scenario is obstacle avoidance and emergency response simulation. The examiner will set up dynamic temporary obstacles such as scattered empty pallets, simulated passing pedestrian props and falling package obstacles on the scheduled operation route. Candidates need to make correct judgments at different distances, slow down in advance, choose a safe detour route or stop the equipment in time to avoid collision. In the emergency simulation link, the examiner will randomly trigger the sudden situation of sudden failure of the brake system during operation, and the candidates are required to take correct protective measures following the standard operation process, turn off the power switch in time, set the brake, and send out the maintenance notice to the management personnel, rather than handling the equipment by themselves in violation of regulations.
The third scenario is slope operation and load stability check. The assessment site is equipped with a standard logistics unloading platform ramp with a gradient of 5% to 7%. Candidates need to operate the electric pallet truck carrying half-load and full-load goods to move up and down the ramp steadily, and are not allowed to turn on the ramp or slide the goods due to unstable speed. After arriving at the designated unloading area, candidates need to complete the load stability check step by step, confirm that the goods are placed smoothly on the shelf, and lower the pallet fork to the lowest safe height before moving the equipment away.
The last part of the scenario test is post-operation compliance verification. After completing all the scheduled operation tasks, candidates need to park the electric pallet truck at the designated charging and storage position, lower the pallet fork to the lowest position, turn off the power supply, pull up the hand brake, and clean up the sundries on the surface of the equipment. The whole assessment process does not set up overly difficult and impractical action requirements, all the test content is closely related to the actual daily operation scenarios of the logistics warehouse, to ensure that the operators who pass the assessment can adapt to the daily work requirements safely and efficiently.
