As the core load-bearing lifting component of electric forklifts, the mast directly determines the maximum accessible height of goods in daily storage, handling and stacking operations. Many logistics operation managers and equipment procurement personnel often have vague cognition of the functional difference between duplex mast and triplex mast, especially the specific boundary of lifting height parameters that matches different work scenarios. This comparison analysis focuses on hardware inherent attributes rather than extended modified configurations, to offer clear and objective reference for equipment matching.
For standard duplex mast configurations of electric forklifts, its structural design contains two sets of nested channel steel assemblies, with the free lifting section reserved for low-altitude operation at the initial stage of ascending. Under the condition of keeping the same vehicle body height of the whole electric forklift, the conventional effective maximum lifting height of duplex mast falls in the range between 3 meters and 4.5 meters. When the mast rises to the maximum height, the overall height of the whole extended mast is basically kept within the acceptable limit of standard container door frame and ordinary low warehouse passage. In actual use, the lifting action of duplex mast will not produce extra excessive blocking to the operator's forward sight during the ascending process, which brings relatively stable operation experience for material handling at ordinary pallet stacking positions below the fourth layer.
As for the triplex mast configuration, it adds one more set of nested movable channel steel structure on the basis of duplex mast, so that it can realize higher effective stroke under the condition that the minimum retracted height of the mast does not increase significantly. The conventional effective maximum lifting height of standard triplex mast for electric forklifts generally ranges from 4.5 meters to 6 meters, and some customized configurations for high rack storage scenes can reach higher reasonable lifting height range without breaking the safety load limit. Due to the extra set of moving structure, the free lifting stroke of triplex mast is longer than that of common duplex mast, which can adapt to the operation requirement of loading and unloading goods without tilting the whole mast when the vehicle enters the closed carriage or low warehouse doorway.
When selecting corresponding mast configurations according to actual business demands, users need to not only refer to the nominal maximum lifting height parameters marked on the hardware specification, but also confirm the actual effective operation height after excluding the height of the fork itself and the load backrest. For scenarios that only need to complete stacking operations below 4.5 meters, duplex mast can meet the demand with lower daily maintenance cost and more stable visual field. For high rack three-dimensional warehouses that need to stack goods above 5 meters, the triplex mast with matched lifting height parameters can give full play to its hardware advantages and improve the space utilization rate of the storage area. All parameter matching work needs to be carried out on the premise of abiding by the electric forklift load operation specification, to avoid potential safety risks caused by mismatched load and lifting height.
