Against the backdrop of low-carbon transformation in the global industrial sector, electric forklifts have become one of the most widely used material handling equipment in warehousing, manufacturing, port logistics and other scenarios in recent years. As most on-site practitioners focus more on actual usage efficiency and cost control, systematic popularization of related operation and management knowledge can effectively avoid unnecessary equipment wear and safety risks.
Core Performance Characteristics of Electric Forklifts
Different from internal combustion counterparts, electric forklifts rely on power battery packs as the core energy supply, with no exhaust emission during normal operation, and the overall noise level during working status is far lower than that of fuel-powered equipment. For closed working scenarios such as indoor storage and cold chain warehouses, this type of equipment can better meet the environmental protection and on-site operation comfort requirements of corresponding scenarios, and will not produce peculiar smell that affects the stored goods. The energy consumption cost per unit running time is also relatively stable, which is convenient for enterprise logistics departments to carry out budget management in the long term.
Standardized Daily Operation Rules
Before each start-up, operators need to check the remaining power level of the equipment, the flexibility of the lifting hydraulic system, and the wear status of the tires first, and confirm that there is no abnormal foreign matter stuck in the running wheel track. During the handling process, the load weight shall not exceed the rated load range marked on the equipment body, the goods shall be placed stably on the pallet, and the mast shall be kept at a proper backward inclination angle to avoid falling of the goods during driving. It is not allowed to carry people on the fork arm, nor to operate the equipment at an overspeed in the narrow passage of the warehouse, so as to reduce the risk of collision with shelves and surrounding staff.
Routine Maintenance and Management Points
After each daily use, operators should park the equipment in the designated charging area, turn off the power switch completely, and wipe the dust and residual sundries on the surface of the equipment. The battery pack should be charged in strict accordance with the specified charging process, and no over-discharge or over-charging operation is allowed for a long time. The relevant wear parts such as driving motor and hydraulic oil seal should be checked regularly by professional maintenance personnel, and the aging components should be replaced in time according to the actual wear status, so as to extend the overall service life of the equipment and reduce the frequency of unexpected failures. Reasonable operation and maintenance habits can bring more stable use effect for long-term equipment investment.
