Furniture parts workshops face unique inter-process transport demands that differ from general manufacturing scenarios. The semi-finished components including solid wood blanks, veneered panels, hardware kits and pre-processed profiles vary in weight, shape and fragility, and the narrow aisles between connected processing stations, strict no-dust requirements for painting related sections, as well as the need to avoid scratch on component surfaces put forward higher standards for material handling tools. Traditional manual pallet trucks or fuel-powered transport tools often cannot balance operation flexibility, transport efficiency and site safety requirements, making electric pallet trucks a highly applicable option for such scenarios.
The first common use case is the transport of raw panel materials between cutting station and milling station. After the large-size raw panels are cut into preset dimensions at the cutting area, operators can place 3 to 5 stacked qualified panels on the standard pallet matched with the electric pallet truck, and drive the equipment to the milling, edge banding and punching station area directly. The compact body design of the electric pallet truck can pass through the 1.8-meter wide common operation aisle smoothly, without interfering with the normal operation of workers on both sides of the aisle. The stable acceleration and deceleration performance also avoids the tilting of stacked panels caused by sudden movement, reducing the possibility of edge damage of semi-finished boards.
The second typical use case is the closed transport of semi-finished components between grinding section and painting section. Most furniture components will go through the grinding process to remove burrs before entering the painting link, and the surface after grinding is extremely easy to leave scratch marks under external friction. The electric pallet truck runs with no spark, no exhaust emission and low noise, which fully meets the environmental control requirements of the dust-free grinding area and the paint spraying area, and will not cause potential safety hazards to the special gas environment in the painting section. Operators can also adjust the running speed according to the real-time personnel flow of the workshop to avoid collision with passing staff.
The third regular use case is the pre-assembly parts kitting transport between finished parts storage area and assembly line. After all parts of one furniture product are processed, staff can place different types of accessories on the same pallet according to the assembly sequence, and use the electric pallet truck to deliver the full set of materials to the designated assembly station at one time. This mode reduces the repeated walking distance of assembly workers, and avoids the missing of small parts such as hinges and fixing screws in the transfer process.
For daily use, workshop managers can arrange regular inspection of the power system and running parts of the electric pallet trucks, and formulate corresponding operation guidelines according to the maximum load of different transport scenarios, to ensure long-term stable operation of the equipment, and bring continuous improvement of the overall material turnover efficiency of the workshop.
